Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, Raymond worked for the U.S. Navy at the Pearl Harbor Navy Yard for a period of 21 months and was awarded a Certificate of Honorable Service to the United States Government.

Raymond Earl Fechter, Jr., died on December 15, 1988, in St. Helena, at the age of 66. He is buried at Saint Helena Cemetery.[Grave]

Josephine remarried six years later to widower William Lewis Ward on March 18, 1995.

Josephine “Joey” (Hallin/Davies Fechter) Ward died on August 6, 2008, in St. Helena. She was 85 years old. Joey was buried with Raymond at Saint Helena Cemetery.[Grave]

Rubye Esther (Fechter) Campbell (1924-2021)

Raymond Everett FECHTER, Jr. 131532. Rubye Esther Fechter was born on January 17, 1924, in Calistoga, Napa County, California. She married Charles David Campbell, Sr., on October 25, 1943. They were aged 19 and 18. Rubye and Charles had five children:

Charles enlisted as a Private in the U.S. Army at Camp Beale, Yuba County, California, on September 13, 1945,[WWII] eleven days after the surrender of Japan. He was 20 years old.

The Campbells lived with Rubye's parents off Petrified Forest Road in Santa Rosa in 1950. There Charles worked as a truck driver for road building.[Cen 1950] Soon after they moved south to Hayward, Alamada County, California.

Charles David Campbell, Sr., died on December 8, 2001, in Vallejo, Solano County, California, at the age of 77. He is buried at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in St. Helena.

Rubye Esther (Fechter) Campbell died on July 31, 2021, at the age of 97. She is buried next to her paternal grandmother, Sarah (Moos) Fecther, at Saint Helena Cemetery, in St. Helena.[Grave]

Everett James Fechter (1925-2000)

He served in the Merchant Marines during the Pacific Campaign in World War II and afterward married Hildegard Koch on January 19, 1944 in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California.
